Project Performance Dashboard
Upload the three P6 .XER files and the reporting calendar file to begin
Step 1
Upload P6 Files
The current .XER is required. The last update and baseline exports add the comparison
columns, the change analysis and the baseline curves.
Current .XER
P6 export for this reporting period — drives all progress, float and deliverable data
Last Update .XER
P6 export for the previous update — used for last update finish dates and change analysis
Baseline .XER
Latest working baseline — provides baseline early and late finish dates
Step 2
Specify the Reporting Cadence
The reporting periods every S-curve, histogram and variance column is measured against.
Upload the client's own period calendar, or generate one from their review cycle.
Calendar File
Excel file containing the "Calendar (Master)" sheet (reporting periods)
Step 3
Schedule Field Mapping
The three fields below drive the reporting outputs. Pick the user-defined field or activity code
that holds each one in your .XER — the tool defaults to user_text7 / user_text8 / user_text9 where they exist.
Activity Coding
Which user-defined field or activity code in the .XER holds each of the three codes that drive the reporting outputs.
Groups every S-curve, histogram, BEI and earned value output.
Identifies key milestones and internal / external interfaces.
Drives the workflow histograms (previously IDC, CRE, CEM, NRR, AFC).
Milestone Code Values
Which values in the milestone field mean each milestone category. Read from the loaded .XER.
Reporting Options
These decide which groups of report sections are available in Step 4.
Step 4
Select the Report Sections
Tick the sections to include in this reporting pack. Everything is regenerated from the files
loaded in Step 1, on the cadence set in Step 2, using the mapping set in Step 3.
Section 1 — Executive Summary
A single 16:9 panel that exports to one PowerPoint slide.
Section 2 — Narratives
Auto-generated from the uploaded .XER files, and editable on the report itself.
Section 3 — KPI Cards
Each card is selected individually and they share one row at the top of the report.
CPI and SPI need costs — tick "Include costs from the schedule" on the upload screen.
Section 4 — Activity S-Curves
Cumulative activity completions against the reporting calendar.
Section 5 — Schedule Analysis
The detailed schedule sections.
Workflow code values to include
One histogram per work package — tick the ones to include
Section 6 — Earned Value Management
Read from the cost-loaded resource assignments in the current .XER.
Tick "Include costs from the schedule" on the upload screen to use this section.
Section 7 — Schedule Quality
Structural health checks against the current .XER.
Section 8 — Resource Analysis
Built by spreading the resource assignments in each .XER across the reporting calendar.
Labour resources only by default — the resource type and the units / cost basis are switchable on the report.
Tick "Include resource histograms" on the upload screen to use this section.
Executive Summary
A single-slide overview drawn from the same calculations as the detailed sections. Sized 16:9 so it exports to one PowerPoint slide.
Click the Schedule Narrative or Critical Path Narrative on the slide to edit the wording for the executive audience — the detailed sections keep their own text.

Project S-Curve — Planned vs Actual vs Forecast
Cumulative activity completions by reporting period. Planned Baseline Early Finish = Baseline Finish · Planned Late Finish = Baseline Late Finish · Actual = Actual Finish · Current Forecast = Current Finish. Red vertical line = time now (last period with actuals).
Work Package S-Curves
One cumulative S-curve per work package, on the same four series as the total project curve. Untick a work package to leave it out.
Project Task Completion Histogram
Grey = planned (Baseline Finish) across the full project · Dark = actual completions to date · Blue = remaining forecast (Current Finish of incomplete activities).
Work Package Task Completion Histograms
One task completion histogram per work package, on the same three series as the project histogram.
Key Milestone Status
Variances in calendar days: negative (red) = current finish is in delay of the comparison date, positive (green) = current finish is earlier than the comparison date. "A" = actual, "*" = constrained date.

Baseline Execution by Work Package
BEI = Total Number of Tasks Complete to Date Divided by the Number of Tasks That Should be Complete in the Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB). Sorted highest BEI first. % complete = tasks complete ÷ total tasks in the data file for each work package.

Float Analysis
Not-started and in-progress activities (Status ≠ Completed) that carry a Total Float value. Critical uses P6's longest-path flag · High Float = more than 44 days (DCMA) · Float Ratio = average Total Float ÷ average Remaining Duration. Each card shows the movement against the last update .XER.
Float Range by Work Package
Not-completed activities with a Total Float value, broken down by float band for each work package. Bands are exclusive and sum to the work package total.

Resource Analysis
Every resource section below reads from these settings. Assignment totals are spread across the reporting
calendar using each assignment's own dates and, where the export carries one, its P6 resource curve.
Resource Histogram
Bars = demand in each reporting period. Line = cumulative baseline against actual plus remaining forecast.
Resource S-Curve
Cumulative baseline against actual to date and the actual-plus-remaining forecast.
